Retailers are raising the bar, every market wants a different size or pack, and skilled labor is hard to find. So how do you get more out of the same carrot? In the new Bejo Carrot Magazine, Ruurd Schut, Business Development Manager at JASA, talks about what happens behind the scenes on the way from field to shelf.

According to Ruurd, the profit isn’t in technology itself, but in how you apply it. Accurate weighing minimizes the overweight you give away, and a flexible packing line responds better to what each market demands. “Packaging has long since ceased to be the final stage of the process,” says Ruurd. “It is an integral part of how you create value and become distinctive in the market.” In the interview, he also discusses integrated lines, the role of data, and how looking ahead helps prevent downtime.

The full magazine, including the interview with Ruurd, is also available in other languages on the Bejo website, such as Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, and Polish.
